This product was great for my 95 year old mother. Because of her dementia I have to put it next to her pillow every night (very easy process). She can control the volume. During the day I sit next to her chair, connected to the charging cable. Now it doesn't bother others anymore.

The volume changes too quickly from off to too high. I don't know how best to phrase it. But basically it's very difficult when you try to listen quietly from a distance. I bought another brand from Revain for my dad and it's much better. But it is smaller and nicer. But the other one has better functionality.

We had problems with the speech intelligibility of our television. Tried all settings. Nothing worked. Just received this. The voice quality is excellent. In response to two comments. The speaker must be charged or connected to a USB charger to function. Also found that TV volume and speaker volume work together. When the tv is on max volume the speaker is loud, I will buy another bedroom for my son so he can watch tv at night without disturbing others.

I only gave this speaker an average rating yesterday because I figured it wouldn't work if the TV speakers were on at the same time. I've now realized that I was wrong. While the company's ad says this may or may not work with the TV speakers on and that you need to check with the TV manufacturer, this does work with my Samsung TV. I never couldn't hear the speaker because it didn't charge the battery after 12 hours of charging and didn't work even with direct current.
