This made my job of installing a metal roof a lot easier. I .

They have made my metal roofing job so much easier. I started with 6 inch Malco sealers and they were too wide to handle 24 gauge metal. I found it much easier to fold with these 3 inch sewing machines and the offset helped a lot with making box ends and drip edges. These are the ones you should get when working with heavier roof sheet metal.

Pros
  • Optimal grip span for maximum strength and comfortable work area
Cons
  • Available in white only

I'm an HVAC professional and after losing my hand sewing machines I decided to try this "cheap" method. First I saw that the workmanship was lacking. I switched from a good quality Malco to this one and after using it for a day I decided it was for the annual homeowner and NOT everyday use. Next time I'll try the Midwest and see how it goes. If you are a professional then NO, if the homeowner needs a disposable tool then YES.

Pros
  • Used to bend and straighten sheet metal
Cons
  • Crumpled

Reasonable but so-so quality

If you're looking for a rough hand sewer that can last a while, this is the tool for the job. If you want a tool that makes precise and clean curves, then spend a little more and get a quality tool. All bolted connections were somewhat loose and required tightening prior to use, and the jaws did not align at the leading edge or ends, or close parallel to each other before final compression. The casting of the head is mediocre and my leading edge needed to be filed. I've relied on Wiss tools for

Pros
  • Non-slip padded handles for superior comfort and control
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
