Holds all my Henckels and Wüstoff knives perfectly. Even my 10" and wood carving set. I have 6 steak knives in front of me and they fit perfectly. The finish and construction is very nice. It's thick but not very heavy and bulky on the counter. The reach angle is good for my larger countertop.

This appliance lived up to the advertisement and I believe it will last a long time although it's too early for me to be sure know, so I didn't rate it durability. My only objection was that the satin was uneven on the top and had a very light spot making it imperfect but given the effort required to replace it I'll just live with the imperfections. Disadvantages of online shopping!

Very nice wooden block for knives. We only use it for our chef, paring knife, deboner and a pair of scissors. The honing steel hole seems to be just for that as I can't find a ceramic honing rod that is the correct diameter for this groove. Also be sure to consider blade height when purchasing knives with this block as my 8 inch Victorinox chef's knife is too big to fit.

love it! We used to have a rubber knife holder that came with our JA Henkels knife set and over the years it became difficult to insert knives and looked quite worn. This wooden knife holder looks beautiful, is well made and has enough slots and a variety of slots for all our knives to have a home. I don't know why it took us so long to make this transition, but I'm so glad we did it. It enhances our kitchen, is very functional and looks great.

Wood and block quality excellent; However, this is called a utility knife block and is inaccurate. I bought this for my significant other (he's a chef) who mainly uses smaller lines/avoids brands (Kai Wasabi). Only 2 knives fit in this block, almost all the slots were too small, and the handles banged together when trying to place them. I pre-purchased this item as a gift, so it is non-refundable. Overall this is a very good knife block. It will look great in any kitchen it is placed in. But there is (1) a problem. The hole you would stick a chef's knife in is too small. Its dimensions are about 1 9/8 inches. My chef's knife blade is 2 1/8 inches at its widest point. In other words, it doesn't fit completely in the block. So many knife blocks take up *so* much counter space that our small apartment doesn't have.
