Is this really a Wix filter?!

Supplied without box and without visible Wix part number. There is a different part number on the plastic bag. Searched for part number, nothing found. I have no reason to believe this is a real Wix filter, so I returned it.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Appearance

love love love good for fuel filter

I went to a FORD dealership to buy a filter and cap and obviously spent a lot of money. Luckily I was looking for another part at Revain and found this product and I had to try it. I was incredibly excited to see the result. And the rest of the parts can be sent back.

Pros
  • great price
Cons
  • interval

Clean fuel is everything.

Love the colour. I haven't installed it yet. When I use it I will use it as a filter to trap contaminants that can get into fuel systems and damage components. The idea is to use a filter to prevent this damage before it happens.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Good but not great

No standard top! Tools needed!

This is NOT the standard top used by most manufacturers. The top of this filter is smooth and requires the use of a wrench or socket to tighten and loosen. I know many of us use a screwdriver, hammer and tap all the grooves. it doesn't have it.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Finish

Correct part number Wrong part number

My 99 F250 7.3, had to return the Wix fuel filter 33818, it turned out that the threads on the filter cap did not screw into the fuel tank, the filter was just longer than the existing filter that was installed in my fuel tank. It wasn't a Wix filter, it was a filter I bought from Auto Parts. The wix number on the box and on the filter cap was correct but it seems the threads on the cap were different, read another review on the forum where someone else had the same issue. Has nothing to do…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Vulgarity

I like that everything is one piece and that the seal only goes one way.

This is the 8th time I've used this filter in my 7.3. I like that everything is one piece and that the seal only goes one way. Lightweight excellent filter. I have already repeated this purchase! I used Autozone's filter because I was in a bind. it was late and dark and I applied this seal incorrectly, for it is hard to tell that their seal was beveled at one end. After 2 days there was a streak of diesel fuel all along the road. Never had a problem with this WIX filter. I will never use…

  • Rugged design
Cons
  • Zero

So far, so good! Best in Fuel Filters

I would give this one 5 stars but I guess I'll have to see how it works for me, how it looks next time I change it etc as it's a first time fuel filter for my truck Bought. Installation was easy, although it felt like I had to hold my tongue to screw it in without crossing the threads. I've read some and for what it's worth the consensus seems to be that you should coat the o-rings with motor oil and not diesel. Again, this is all information gleaned from reading many posts, etc. So do your own

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • unreliable

WIX's filtering capabilities are generally superior to those of OEMs and are often contracted out to manufacturers and then rebranded. These filters are well worth the extra few dollars. For some reason this particular filter tends to have cross threads. Had to return one early due to a rounded adjusting nut due to cross thread issues. Always try to start the filter properly by turning the filter counter-clockwise until the filter cover is one seam down, which is usually an indication of proper

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Updates available
