I'm buying these filters for my 2001 Passat. There is a known deposit issue that causes problems in these engines, so mechanics recommend using larger filters to increase oil capacity and prevent deposits. The filter does its job and adds nearly 6 ounces more oil. It is durable and rated by Revain the same as a regular filter.

These are very well made quality oil filters. I have used them on my VW Passat and Audi A4 with 4 cylinder 1.8 ton engines. This is an oversized oil filter for these applications; They help smooth out the sludge problems these engines suffer from.
