Review on 🔧 WIX Filters - 51333 Spin-On Lube Filter: Enhance Engine Performance, Pack of 1 by Daniel Revlon

I purchased this oil filter to replace the WIX 51393 that is normally required on my car. I've researched oil filters to find out how they should be constructed and what their best features are. The best filters consist of a steel canister, a compression spring that holds the filter in place, metal end caps around the filter media, and a check valve. The efficiency of an oil filter is measured by three criteria: separation efficiency (particle size), dirt holding capacity and flow resistance. Dirt holding capacity means that the dirt picked up by the filter stays in the filter. The flow resistance allows for reduced pressure yet effective filtration at normal operating temperatures. WIX filters were claimed to capture and retain all particles larger than 21 microns in diameter and had a 2psi bypass pressure. They meet the requirements of the best oil filters. I also looked at the filter size; Bigger filters have more capacity so they keep the oil clean when running the same amount of time. A larger filter also contains more filter material inside. 51333 added another liter to my oil stash. The large surface area of the canister also provides better oil cooling. The downside of a larger filter is adjusting whether it will fit in the same space as the OEM filter. As for fitting my Jetta Mk4 1.8t, people were concerned that it might contact the AC line and split the line, but I had no problems. Then I started looking for the best source for availability and price. I went to the local auto parts store where I bought my previous filters. After evaluating the filters, the 51333 turned out to be $3 more expensive than my 51393, which I bought from my local parts store. 51333 was an incredible investment and after 2000 miles my oil is still clean.
