Good value for money. Not pretty, cute or cool.

Did exactly what I needed. Put a truck on the road that has stood still for 4 years. Inexpensive additional filtration is required.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • No instructions

Suitable for pump fuel only

I have this to gravity feed a 5hp generator. Guilty. This is for fuel transfer. It's a good filter, but the flow resistance was twice as high on gravity feed, and the generator ran out of fuel and died. For gravity fueling I chose a type that looks like a disc with a fine mesh screen inside. Wix makes good filters and I use different types of filters on different hardware. I was just wrong this time.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Minor issues

WIX FUEL FILTERS COST THE MONEY

I disassembled a Wix 33002 (before the fuel pump) and a similar unbranded filter (before the carburetors), both of which have had less than 1000 miles on my car. Wix looked perfect but unbranded was a mess. The glue that attached the paper filter to the plastic housing crumbled and parts fell into the carburetors, as a result of which the float valve did not close and gas leaked from the overflow. Replaced it with Wix and will never buy a cheap filter again.

Two-Stroke Essentials

I use this filter on my 1968 Mustang with 289, all my outboard motors (5, 35 and 70 hp. I mount the filter right next to the gas tank in front of the primer bulb and small factory filters in the engines) and my Briggs 25hp lawn mower. I have never had any problems. I use hose clamps, not zip ties, and have never encountered any leaks. The life of the filter depends only on how much gas flows through it. Because of the rubber fuel lines, I only use NO ETHANOL gas on all of the above. If you have
