Bought for use with a hammer. Should work well - good weight in the 30 ounce version. Well made, nice finish, good polymer head.

Lift for use in frost is ideal. Used to split hickory with the Gransfor Bruck-Froe and more than did the job with the weight. The construction is solid and well made. There will be smaller ones to work with a chisel.

I've had it for a few years and I've tried my best to hurt it, break it, hit something I shouldn't and it just laughs and keeps going. this thing is wonderful. Not as accurate as a brass head hammer for fine work, but if you're making a wooden frame and need to plant a tenon this will work. It's always in my tool bag and the lead shots really help add weight to it. Just don't slap her hand, ask me how I know.

Great hammer - be careful when landing convincing blows. Without paying much attention, I did a pretty good job of calculating the angles of the workbench leg to match the mortise and tenon. That is hard. Don't be fooled by its light weight. I know this sounds counterintuitive - I mean it's not too hard to swing, but the urethane is tough enough to crush the fibers and break the sharp edges. I found this to be a great submersible chisel hammer!

This is a good solid hammer with some weight. It didn't feel too heavy even after using it all day. He will deliver a powerful blow without damaging the butt of the chisel.
