Broken Shank: Power & Hand Tools

could have been selected I was roughing the bowl and the steel shank broke between the tool rest and the handle right in the grooved area. I've been using it for about a year with no problems

Pros
  • Hand Tools
Cons
  • The newer model

Good Price - Wood Chisel

I've added this to my arsenal of rotary tools at a much lower price than others. I like the length of the handle and the cutting surface holds an edge very well. It would be easy to spend twice as much on this tool, but it works great for me.

Pros
  • Tools and Housewares
Cons
  • High Price

Ah, it's like a hollowed out bowl.

This 5/8" cutter has some significant problems, starting with the design. The steel may be tool steel, but it is a SOFT tool steel that sharpens and dulls quickly. flat, short, and the initial sharpening is useless. The tip is decorative as it is made of thinly coated steel. Nevertheless I have resharpened the tool and it has gained a very good edge and will (in its short life) be a useful tool. I say short life because with my sharpener the flute is used as a reference and the flute is so…

  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Need more specification in the description

Notch specs are not measured like others It is rated as 5/8" " listed like every other notch I've seen, it's the size of the groove, in this case the diameter of the bar it's cut from. By these standards, it should be listed as 1/2", not 5/8".

Pros
  • Item Package Size: 22.5"L x 1.5"W x 1.5"H
Cons
  • Expensive

Heavy duty tool and good quality HSS steel, turns well

One of the edges of the groove about 3 inches from the tip has been smoothed as if a notch or a notch large dent would have been discarded. This is a problem because my sharpener sits behind the edges of the groove and tilts the point profile as it sharpens. I suspect this problem will go away over time after the tool wears out and the jig is no longer in that area. This problem should have been spotted by the Quality department and this particular tool was not even meant to be sold. Shipping…

Ah, it's like a hollowed out bowl.

This 5/8" router bit has some significant issues starting from the design. The steel may be tool steel, but it is a SOFT tool steel that sharpens and dulls quickly. a bit small, a bit short and the initial sharpening is useless. The fence is decorative as it is made of thin galvanized steel. However I have resharpened the tool and it has a very good edge and will (in its short lifespan) be a useful tool .
