It works! Electronics

And that says a lot to me, a real Arduino newbie. I've tried several other boards and shields over the years with no OTA success. I used LOLIN (WEMOS) D1 R2 and a mini board on VS. I also had to include the Arduino.h library file in my sketches because I'm using a very unique shield.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Annoying

GREAT! I bought 3 kits

I don't have a computer around so can't offer advice on setup but these guys are a great Arduino alternative with wifi. I use them for the LEDs that run along our walls. You can set up a nice HTML interface to control your ESP from your phone. It doesn't take long to get started as there are many tutorials.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

A good product. Excellent price.

Outstanding performance. As advertised. Be careful, remember they are based on esp 8266 and cannot handle normal loads or Arduino Uno power! You need transistors or relays for high input power

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Protection

Not really compatible with Arduino shields or libraries.

The board works fine as an ESP-12 board (similar to NodeMCU), but I haven't had much luck using it with Arduino boards (like Adafruit's Motor Shield) or with SPI devices (using the Arduino /ESP8266 library port). However, I managed to get a simple I2C device to work with it. I'm sure I could get other devices to work on it if I program an ESP8266 at a lower level, but that defeats the purpose of "Arduino compatibility". If I wanted to, I could use better and smaller boards. Well, the $8 risk…

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Some issues
