Works perfectly! Just use a gentle touch

Used with a $50 steamer (also purchased from Revain). Removed two layers of wallpaper at once. I read all the reviews before purchasing and followed the advice of others to use a light touch. Apparently this was enough to penetrate two layers of wallpaper and allow the steam to loosen the adhesive underneath both layers. Couldn't be happier. The wall underneath was plastered (the house was built in 1950). I'm not sure if a different wall material would have changed the results. But for my…

good tool. But is it really like that?

I used this tool to cut wallpaper. The tool worked well - I had no problems with tool breakage as many have commented. The tool penetrated the wall, leaving marks, but nothing significant. Everything worked fine with the recommended solution - the solution didn't penetrate the paper as well as I would have liked. Was it a decision or a tooling error? I do not know. After I peeled off the top layer of paper, the solution came off the paper very well. This leads me to believe that this tool just…

YOU DON'T NEED IT

This thing made removing wallpaper ten times harder than it should have been. All you have to do is peel the dry wallpaper off the wall, leaving a layer of super-super-thin paper - about as thin as tissue paper. Then you spray this substance on the bottom layer of the super thin paper and it scrapes off like butter. I don't need this trimming tool. It took me the same amount of time to clean 4 square feet, first indenting with this thing, then scraping, as it did to manually clean the rest of…

Useful but not essential

I used it to trim the wallpaper before peeling it off. This was my first attempt at wallpaper removal and it was tedious but not difficult. This tool makes small holes in the paper, which allows the liquid to penetrate a little better. But I also did a section without it for comparison, and while the wallpaper was really saturated, it came off just as easily. The key seems to be getting the paper completely wet, which is messy but effective. After reading other reviews I didn't press Chomp too…

Durable and easy to use

We had to remove a lot of wallpaper in our new house - several rooms were covered with wallpaper from floor to ceiling. Some were applied to the structure, some to the primed wall, some directly to the drywall. It was a lengthy project, but this scorer worked really well and survived all the work! It's not the cheapest option, but I checked out the reviews and realized I needed one that suited my job. I'm glad I went with it! In case it helps anyone, here is my method: Choose A LOT. The bigger…

don't be a fool best of wallpapers

Try removing wallpaper with water and patience before buying a tool that will poke a few holes in it, leading to more tears and frustration leads. For wallpaper removalBefore you begin: Don't cut your nails for a few days You'll need: Newspaper spray bottle Paper towels, sponge, or rag Tap water You won't need: to remove entire sheets; Perforations help tear) You may need: Fabric (nice carpet or too lazy to sweep) Mark the edges of the wallpaper panels if they are difficult to see. Starting…

Worked great! Mine is NOT broken

I don't know what all the bad reviews are about. The instructions clearly indicate how to use the tool and what pressure should be applied. I've only used one of these on all my walls where I want to remove the paper. It is a large dining room wall, a kitchen table and a bathroom. It has never damaged my walls with too much pressure, nor has it broken like some reviews say. It has actually returned to my toolbox in the garage for future use. Just remember not to apply too much pressure, so use…
