Beautiful on my counter!

Nice new unit. Large enough that a 10" planer won't pierce through. The range of sized slots was perfect for me. I didn't realize how worn my 20 year old block was until I replaced it with this beautiful new block!

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Easily repairable

Price wise, Meh is best in Knife Blocks & Storage

In hindsight I should have just bought a cheap set that would have worked just as well rather than paying more money just for the brand name. Yes, wustoff makes good knives, but there's no point overpaying just for a knife holder.

Pros
  • Sequins
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Excellent quality! best knife blocks and storage

I bought this for my husband. When I moved in with him, I threw away his Wüsthof block and used mine. Little did I know his knives were AMAZING compared to my crappy college knives. So I put my foot in my mouth and apologized for throwing it away. That's great quality!

Black rip knife slots

I like the look but unfortunately after a few months I've noticed that black knife slots scratch or chip when not cutting with your knife. Disappointing as I was hoping the black would deepen and the scratches wouldn't be as visible anytime soon.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

China screwed up!

Another well-known company that ships products to China to completely cut its reputation with QUALITY! Received the block today. A leg is missing, the torn off foot is not in the box. Then it turned out why the legs are held by screws that are too short to hold the legs securely, it was an old block and it's of no comparable quality!

Stylish and durable.

This pad looks great in my kitchen! Much smoother and lasts longer than my previous Henkels light block. I was a little worried the kids would scratch it when they put knives away, but after a few months it looks like new. I don't think it was cheap but the quality is very good and I am very happy with this purchase. I could fit all the knives I have in it except my cleaver.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time

  • embarrassing

Excellent capacity in a small space

We have moved from a large house with a large kitchen and spacious storage area to a small apartment with a galley and limited storage space. We need a way to store our collection of good knives in a way that is protected, easily accessible and doesn't take up too much valuable space. I was skeptical that a standard size block could hold 9 knives, 6 steak knives, a carving fork and a grinder. I expected it would be difficult for me to insert and remove knives in a confined space. Surprise! It…

Broken Block of Wood for Knife

I received this block of wood in April and was very pleased with the number of knives it holds and the beautiful appearance. Today I noticed two cracks in the tree. One on the right holding the steak knives and one going up the edge of the block. There's no reason why it should be like on a ceramic tile counter; it has not been dropped or exposed to moisture or water. There can be no humidity because I live in the Arizona desert. I thought I could return it for a replacement but my return…

Much better than the picture on Amazon!

Hope this helps with the reviews confusion as to what this block looks like. I ordered 2 of these because I wasn't sure which color I would like best. I ordered the black one directly from Amazon and I ordered the walnut one from the boss via Amazon. Both blocks are great! They were both very well built with good quality wood and the cut outs were very smooth. On the Amazon website, photos of the black version have a cheap white sticker, and the walnut version has the name stamped into the…
