I stretched the o-ring as instructed and it didn't stay stretched for more than a few seconds to fit the groove. I began to gradually become more aggressive in trying to get the ring in place. It started to tear, so I quickly put it back together before it shrank. Needless to say, the mechanism began to leak after a few hundred miles.
