This card comes in handy and helped me have 3 USB ports for use with Windows Mixed Reality. Note that this card gets very hot. I had to apply thermal epoxy to the heatsink and place a fan over the card to keep it from getting hot after running my Windows Mixed Reality headset for 5 minutes. Check out other clothes if you want to use this with VR or something else intense.

Overall this is a good card and I connected an external power supply. But 2 times in the last month the card didn't work at all. Both times I had cold boots that had nothing to do with sleeping habits or sleep problems. I am using W7 Pro x64. I had to open the case and reinstall the card to get it working. This device works on an external hard drive but not on a USB 3.0 Galaxy S9 phone. The USB power is only 5 volts 0.46mah, although connected to a SATA power cable, it is not enough to charge the phone. I checked that with a meter. It will install the driver by itself, so be careful. When I tried to connect my USB 3.0 hard drive, files were transferred at 90-120 Mbit/s.

I have a computer that was having USB connection issues due to 5V instability on the front ports. By installing this PCIe card with power from an external SATA connector and expanding its usefulness by using a hub for easy access, I now have four additional stable ports. Easy to install, but since the drivers come on a minidisk, it's easier and better to download the driver pack from the website. It's better, especially since the driver pack was recently updated in January this year. Goodbye.

I installed the card fairly easily (didn't need a cable to connect to my PSU as the power cord was the same black connector I used instead I was able to connect directly. I tried the software and was a little confused by what I saw as it seemed to have drivers for the network adapter, USB devices, USB controllers and something else I wasn't sure if I needed the install it at all since I'm using Windows 10. Super price and the product worked without installing drivers. Came with power cord. Be sure to connect the power cord so that the USB 3 ports can power the connected device. Each USB 3 port can supply 0.9A for each connected device.

Product died after 20 minutes of use. Back then, the speed was very depressing. File transfer speed never exceeded 20MB/s. The problem was confirmed by reinstalling the drivers. The installation could not continue because the supporting product is not present.
