Good to have - fire protection

I really like the missing battery change once a year. My wife has turned it on for cooking a few times so it works great. She can't cook.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • dubious purchase for older people

Overall Happy: Safety

Can't beat combo alarms for the price, but you probably don't need 5 carbon monoxide alarms in a house. My fire department only recommended one. They are well packaged and quickly assembled.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Installation was easy, I hope I never have to know if they work

The floor panels fit right where my old sensors were, I didn't have to paint the new alarm sensors. I like the ad; although I'm not sure how often I'll use it. Instead of changing batteries every year, I just check the battery level.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Slightly cracked

Easy to install and why change batteries when they're worth the money

Very easy to install, probably around 5 minutes to install maybe a little longer. Pre-drilled using the mounting bracket as a guide. Drywall anchors hold very well. Pleased not to have to change batteries for 10 years and to deal with annoying beeps from dead batteries.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Poor performance

Battery just 2 weeks old

I bought these 5 smoke alarm kits specifically for a 10 year old battery because I was going to fit it for my aunt (she is almost 90) and literally 2 weeks later she called, we were startled because he beeped. When I checked, according to the manual, the reason was that the battery had expired (it was supposed to last 10 years) and you can't charge or replace the battery, so now you have a piece of junk. ** ***Upgrade*****The company contacted me and sent a replacement while all 5 I bought are…

  • New

So far so good for safety

Good product. The only thing is my friend wouldn't let me install it in the bedrooms because the light flashes every 60 seconds indicating it's still running. I haven't noticed it in common areas since I installed them so it wasn't bothersome but when I kept it in the bedroom waiting to be installed you could definitely see it in the dark. Not suitable for sleeping. If you have a new construction (I don't), the codes may require you to have alarms that "talk to each other". Not a problem for me

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Compatibility

Fantastic investment - no worries for a long time

There were five detectors in the box, five mounting rings/brackets that attach to the wall with three screws (included). Everything was nicely packed with foam dividers, each in its own plastic bag. Instructions were easy and installation was a breeze. I tested each device by clicking the test button following the documentation. Tested with real smoke and all sensors worked properly with a loud shrill alarm. I waited about a week before installing them in five spots on the ceiling because I…
