You have to be right in front of the XBox for the remote control to work; The range seems to be very limited. I have to maintain line of sight and press buttons many times for something to happen. The remote also lacks the bumper and trigger buttons of a regular XBox controller. UPDATE: Purchased November 6, 2015 Died March 19, 2016. This remote fell from a height of approximately 2 feet off a coffee table onto a hardwood floor.
