Description of XFasten Waterproof Aluminum Adhesive Flashing

Super waterproof Aluminum Butyl Tape that delivers watertight sealing on metal roofs, gutter leaks, RV roof, window seal gaps- shutting off water, and corrosive chemicals. Easy-to-install and mess-free Aluminum Foil Butyl Tape EMPOWERS the average homeowner with little to NO EXPERIENCE in repair to achieve PROFESSIONAL results. Easy to manage and does not turn gooey. This Aluminum Roof Flashing Tape tape withstands extreme outdoor conditions: heat (250F), UV exposure, freezing (-13F), and dust. Its aluminum backing is also puncture-proof-- this tape is designed to take a beating!. Flexible aluminum foil surface allows the Aluminum Butyl Roof Patching Tape to curve and flex, enabling repairs not just on flat surfaces, but also on curved and textured areas. Unlike most butyl tapes, the XFasten Waterproof Tape has a long shelf life and resists melting into a gooey slob upon storage. Can be applied on metal roof, galvanized metal, glass, plastic, and concrete.

Everything was fine.: Butyl tape

Everything was fine. Something in between with the production - it could have been a lot better, it could have been a lot worse.

seems to work great

I used this as part of a bodywork project for the floor pans of a Dodge truck. I sealed the bondo area then used this tape as a barrier and then sprayed on the primer. Time will tell how it holds up but it seems great for this type of repair.

Pros
  • Excellent Construction
Cons
  • Damaged

Analyze over time to determine effectiveness.

I used this product to patch a small spot of rust (bottom right) on the last panel of an aluminum garage door. To determine its effectiveness, I'll have to wait a few weeks to see how well it sticks to the door in the face of the natural elements.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Requires base

Exactly what we needed!

We were looking for aluminum butyl tape for a project around the house. My husband was browsing through various brands and we came across the Fasten brand. So far we've been happy with this tape and it's worked really well for the projects we had to complete. It's only been a few weeks but the band is holding up as expected and we don't think we'll have any problems in the future!

Pros
  • Build quality
Cons
  • A few little things

It just doesn't stick

I have this to seal my chimney. It adheres well to the casing, but does not adhere to the chimney block at all. Before applying, I cleaned everything, rinsed it off and let it dry for a day. Thus, he walked on a perfectly clean, dry and dirt-free surface. This was in 60 degrees Fahrenheit, well within what is advertised as working. I was going to use all the leftovers to plug the gutter leak but I used up the whole roll trying to tape it to the chimney. good uncomplicated solution.

Pros
  • Hands free kit
Cons
  • Very expensive
