$2 each, I think that's a great price. Last time I bought a DS18B20 out of 10 I only received bare chips and paid about $1.50 each. So the inclusion of the assembly in a complete waterproof package is outstanding value to me. Of course I can find cheaper assembled units from China but not having to wait long for delivery is real value too. Two of my favorite features are 1) pest control and 2) versatility of interfaces. You can put 3 of these on one I/O pin before you run into any weirdness. On a nano with far fewer I/O pins than larger boards, this is VERY useful. Note that it can take up to a second for them to poll each sensor. Physically they *feel* hard. Attention! The product is not fully waterproof over time. Due to the manufacturing process, the sensors are not really waterproof. Photos show the lack of water resistance and the complete failure of the sensor. This applies to 70% of my order with problems. They were only an inch deep.

I have purchased 17 units of this item (170 sensors) and we use them for GPS tracking and temperature monitoring. We have about 10% temperature sensor failures. The problem is that most errors occur after installation, so I have to stop the trucks again and replace the sensor again. We agree with the price related failure rate, but the problem is that this refinement increases our operating costs and decreases customer satisfaction.
