I "disconnected" the plastic shell and used it to replace a 20 year old alternator connector that fell apart when replacing the alternator. The wires were a different color than the stock, but that didn't matter since I was just using the plastic case. I was worried about having to splice the wires, but if you're careful you can remove the wires without damaging the plastic sleeve and put in your standard wires.

99 Toyota Tacoma 3.4L 4wd. Fits perfectly. I placed the old and new connector side by side and marked the original wires before cutting as the wires on the new connector are different colors. I hated cutting the factory wires, but just didn't like the broken connector connected to my alternator. I wanted to hear a "click" when I plugged it in. In the picture next to it is a photo of my broken fork. Hope this helps someone with the same problem as me.

A few months ago my husband went to change my alternator and the original connector fell apart in his hand trying to connect it. We spent money on a new top and were dismayed that we couldn't find this part at any of the dealerships/dealers. I'm glad we found a part that really fits my Celica as OEM parts are no longer made for my 24 year old car and are very hard to find in the aftermarket, junkyards etc. Very satisfied.

Used in 1998 Toyota 4runner. The previous generator burned out on a muffled car - acid from the battery ran into the generator and closed the circuit to ground. The fire started in the generator and melted the plug. I installed a new battery and alternator and connected this connector to the wire harness. This is an exact replacement for my Japanese made Camry 97. Colour, shape, dimensions inside and out, even small non-functional details are the same as the original connector. front of the connector, first pull out the white tab from the inside, then for each pin, release the black tabs on top of the pin so that the pin can be pulled out by pulling on its wire). Do the same for the factory plug if it hasn't already been dismantled. Install the factory contacts into the blank new connector…
