Terrible Quality, Not Worth It

Based on my experience, this adapter cable converter is not worth it. The quality is terrible and it simply doesn't work as expected. It's a waste of money and time. The only pro is that it's cheap, but that doesn't make up for the poor quality. Computers deserve better accessories than this.

Pros
  • Affordable
Cons
  • Poor quality, doesn't work well

works well with smaller interface drives (2.5 inch) but does not support a full size 3.5 inch SATA drive. my thunderbolt port emulator and i tried it on my surface pro. None of these contained 3.5" drives (tried five different drives). My box also contained a small Phillips screwdriver of no apparent use. This review pointed out the lack of a 12V adapter input for more drive power.

Pros
  • Compatible with USB 3.0 and USB3. 1 Unit
Cons
  • High Price

Works but requires the purchase of a separate power supply

Device as in the picture. It reads 2.5" and 3.5" SATA drives with no problems. I give it three stars because they don't include a power adapter for use with 3.5" drives. The adapter is affordable, but I would pay a little more and find an adapter that comes with the power adapter. It just adds another layer of frustration when you need to look for a 12V 2A power adapter and the power adapter adapter pin size doesn't fit the standard head. Buy a separate power supply with different tips just toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Maximum theoretical speed 10 Gbps
Cons
  • Minor details
