Yak Gear Deluxe Anchor Trolley Kit Review

The hardest part to install was my 3/8 bit. I put nuts on the pulleys to use the bolts to mark where to drill. Without a blunt drill, installation would take 10 minutes. There is no silicone in the kit, instead I used car sealant believing it would last longer and stick better.

Is this DELUXE? Well it's a joke. This is the cheapest anchor trolley system. The pad eyes and triangular ring are made of CHEAP nylon and will flex with the slightest effort. I had to purchase stainless steel grommets and a triangle ring at a local nautical store. A complete waste of money. You can get much better parts for about the same money. Don't waste money!

These are great carts, they have everything you need and great instructions. There is also a video on YouTube about the installation of this particular trolley system. I only wish I had thought better of it since I would have access to the inside of the case at both ends and would mount the pulleys with bolts and locknuts instead of nuts. I installed one on each side, one for the anchor/pitch stick and one for the drift toe for added stability.

Highly recommended for installation on a kayak or canoe. I installed the Pelican Strike on my kayak the first time with great results. Installs very easily. I recommend watching a YouTube video about Yak Gear's product. The only thing I'm deducting 5 stars for is that there are rivets in the kit, but they weren't, they were stainless steel screws. Amazing system. For those of you who have kayak fishing and don't own an anchor cart, you need to get one! So easy to install and so easy to use on the water. I like this system and it works very well for changing my position in the wind. Don't worry about the few holes you need to drill or rivet to install this kit, it's very easy. Like most others I was nervous about drilling holes in my kayak but there are enough videos to walk you through the steps step by step. This kit contains everything you need to install a simple and functional anchor trolley on your kayak. I have bought the kit twice and installed it on sit and sit kayaks. Both setups were simple and pretty much identical. Bought this kit here at Revain. I just installed it on my 2007 Pamlico 160T Wilderness Systems that I am modifying for fishing. I read a lot and people seem to prefer Harken pulleys so I bought these. This setup was very easy. I bought my own rivets and a rivet gun and installed eyelets with 3/16 marine rivets (NO LONGER INCLUDED IN THIS KIT).
