Excellent product, the best quality.

An excellent sub for my money, when the receiver is off, there are no extraneous sounds, it doesn’t phon at all, I connected it to the receiver with an ordinary thin wire with tulips at both ends, everything is fine). The power of the subwoofer is enough for a system of two YAMAHA SN-555 speakers and a PIONEER VSX-521-k receiver. The legs had to be modified, raised the subwoofer by 10mm from the floor. I am satisfied with the purchase, I recommend.

Pros
  • Appearance, build quality, soft deep bass.
Cons
  • No adjustments, no subwoofer stands, just small thin rubber bands.

A little bit not what I expected, generally fine.

I took to replace the Edifier S530D for a computer (games). Works in tandem with the Yamaha RX-V385 receiver and Ultimate Sym1 shelf speakers. It sounds good at medium volume (the volume level is set in the middle), there are no overtones or rattles (I drove it with a tone generator). At high volume (-20dB and above), it starts to choke, the lack of power affects. I would not recommend it for listening to music, there is no reserve, but for games it is quite good. What is really missing is the…

Pros
  • + speaker 25cm + frequency characteristics + good sound + relatively inexpensive
Cons
  • - no auto shutdown - on/off button and volume control on the back - Weak at high volumes - no adjustments

Boom. That's exaggerated. I can buy another one.

I already had an 8" version - bought it many years ago with a receiver and surround sound - and this system works great. It was a gift for my neighbors , they like to play loud music until morning. Since my purchase they close their door which muffles their sound a bit and I'm glad about that. This speaker did what 5 calls didn't - deserved respect from my noisy neighbors. Thanks Yamaha!

Yamaha, Quality, Reputation,

I needed to replace my Pioneer receiver and bought my old Yamaha subwoofer in 2009. I replaced the receiver with a newer Pioneer receiver but wasn't happy with it. I bought this Yamaha receiver which I really like, had to stick with Yamaha and bought this subwoofer. Not only does it sound better than my previous woofer, but it's the exact same 100-watt system with the same 10-inch woofer, but with an improved cone that really makes this woofer bassier! And with this 7.2 watt home theater sound…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Weight

I wrote to Yamaha to see if it needed a "crossover" output to connect to an audio input dedicated to subwoofer speakers. They said it only works when connected to a specific subwoofer audio output and doesn't work with full signal (no treble crossover, normal full range audio output). I was advised to return this speaker if I needed to connect it to an audio interface with normal full signal output. This feature used to be included in Yamaha's 10-inch subwoofers, but they removed this feature…

Not everything is so bad, but there are disadvantages.

For the money that they ask for it in 2022 - $ 200 (~ 15000r) there is a much more interesting device. This is SONY SA-CS9. Better in every aspect. Yes, and cheaper. I hope my review will help someone make a choice. Pros below: Qualitatively assembled. Case materials, joints, vinyl - everything is fine. Pleasant sound at medium volume (provided that you have an adjustable LFE crossover on the receiver with a cutoff frequency below 80Hz) Cons: No subwoofer controls other than volume. It is not…

Ease of use for amplifier with built in crossover and phase

There was a Yamaha YST-SW45 8 inch subwoofer which was good but didn't go below 30-35Hz. up to 50 Hz that just wasn't enough. I liked the sound of Yamaha subwoofers so I went in search of a decent but not overly expensive subwoofer with at least 25Hz. Street one. In fact, this is a hybrid of the younger YST-SW216 and the more expensive NS-SW300. It has more or less specs of 216 with a twisted pair port of 300. What it doesn't have are speaker level inputs with a built in adjustable crossover…
