Absolutely Amazing Tool! It took forever to skin the fish so I just skinned it and then we got this and it makes it so quick and easy. Yes, the scale still makes a mess, but it's cleaning the fish, I guess this tool doesn't make it as messy as without.

I have a new favorite tool and here it is. 100% worth your money. I fully scaled 25 fish dishes in less than 10 minutes. His effort is less and he doesn't shoot fish scales everywhere. If you don't have it, get it now and you won't be disappointed.

This is now my favorite gadget in the whole kitchen! I had no idea such a thing existed. We always used a knife that spread dandruff all over the place. This is an amazing little tool! Much heavier than it looks but comfortable to hold while cleaning the fish! I wouldn't trade it for anything!

I love this tool! I use it from time to time when I need to buy salmon at the grocery store and scale it. After that, there was no dirt and was easily removed. The tool can be sharp depending on the angle you hold it, so be careful and take your time cleaning the fish. Great product and I'm glad I bought another one as a gift for family.

I would return this unless the seller doesn't accept returns. The shank of the metal part appears to be glued into the wooden handle, but the glue isn't strong, allowing bacteria to grow and not being able to be cleaned. Why would anyone pay money for something new that needs repairing? One star because there are no zero ratings.

This scaler solved my problem. Salmon and other fish fillets are usually sold without scales, and trying to scale these small pieces is very difficult and very messy. Instead I tried this scaler and it worked really well without messing up my kitchen. Why? The shape of the scaler allowed me to work with the fillet entirely in the sink instead of on the countertop next to it. Ultra sharp, very effective in removing scales with almost no effort, without pressure from the weight of the brass scraper head - best to slide over the fish from tail to head in the opposite direction of scale growth on the fish. I buy frozen skinned salmon fillet from Revain Fresh but it comes with scales. Before I bought it, I was just trying to get the scales off with a knife and fingers. It was an arduous, messy ordeal. After a few days I noticed that the scale was stuck to the floor. Admittedly, I could have done more to keep the scale from falling.
