As soon as we received it, the dining table was bare as dead winter. It's easy to remove when you have guests. The table introduces you to the culture of the floor where you sit on the floor and do things like read, watch TV, eat and play games. it is a very pleasant feeling. we have a converter for it and in winter we use a heater. you can get a blanket at walmart/target.

I really like this kotatsu table! Unfortunately I received it at the end of winter so I only used the heating function once to see if it worked. A blanket on the table was enough to keep me warm during the last few cold days. Unfortunately the edge of the table is broken in one place which is not very pleasant as it raises concerns about how long the table will last at this price point. At the moment I would have expected better quality control. (I got the duvet and rug set from ebay)

I really like the Kotatsu, it's my first unit and is already being used extensively around our house as the weather gets colder. Very cozy. This is big enough that I can slide underneath to feel the refreshing warmth. It was worth it! It originally arrived with some damage in transit - looks like the corner was crushed and the table top damaged.
