I find them excellent needles for the price. I find it very smooth and the yarn glides beautifully over it. I have a needle that is a bit split so I just took some sandpaper and smoothed it out. I highly recommend it. I have been knitting for over 60 years and have worked with many needles, good and bad.

These DPNs are smooth but have a grip so your stitches don't fly off, but they're not too grippy or heavy on your hands. When knitting small things in the round I prefer short bamboo needles and often cheap ones that are not very smooth. This is perfect, especially if you're doing something like a top-down hat and you have that spiky sea urchin made of needles going in all directions. I like the short ones to keep the mess at bay and it's actually handy that they're bamboo and unvarnished to keep the needles from slipping out.
