Great little walking leg at a good price!

Bought to replace the double price Singer Walking foot, my wife wanted to move the Singer and broke her foot. It's held in place by a thin piece of plastic. Replaced with this, with a metal link, works great. It works better than Singer. We sew from slippery thin sheer fabric and it works great!

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Some defects

Lever stays upright doesn't work when working

I bought this to make a baby blanket for my daughter, the walking foot works perfectly until halfway through the blanket. Then the walking leg lever would get stuck and if it didn't work properly, the walking leg wouldn't work as it should. Very frustrating! I would return it for a refund but the return time has already expired so I guess I'll just throw it away and look for one that will hopefully always work properly.

  • Crafts and Sewing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Better than my Singer walking foot

I needed a walking foot for my Kenmore 385.19606. I tried the Singer which was fine but the feed dogs were a little off and I was concerned about how close the needle was to the presser foot. This works great! I also like that all parts are metal inside and out, while the $20 Singer's foot has a lot of plastic. I don't know how it will hold up, but since similar looking ones cost $40-$80 I figured I could afford to break a few times and it was worth the risk. But first, as another reviewer…

Pros
  • Sew
Cons
  • I will add later

Spend an extra two dollars on a balanced meal walk.

Spend two dollars more for the Smooth Feed Walking Foot; The lever that should move over the bar that contains the needle clamp assembly does not follow the bar properly because the spring that should cause the lever to lower is too weak to do its intended job. Instead, I had to hold my finger to apply enough pressure to make it fall. This makes it extremely difficult to work through the machine without causing other problems. Choose another socket with a forked arm designed to follow the clamp
