A copy of the Hammacher Schlemmer model

My exwife actually took my sound machine that I use for a white noise, she is using it in her therapy practice as money do, to prevent their clients from being heard in session. I don’t know how good this machine has yet, it is a perfect copy of the one that she took from Hammacher Schlemmer which I have had for 17 years, I doubt this one will make it that long… Without any further information I would just have to recommend buying one at Hammacher Schlemmer

Pros
  • This item can be shipped to select countries outside of the U.S. Learn More
Cons
  • May not effectively cancel all noise in all environments

It's nice but not that masking.

I run this for about 12 hours a day. Worked well out of the box, no motor problems, no vibrating. It is NOT that loud. I have it right next to my head and while the sound is obviously soothing and masking I can still hear my husband laugh in the living room. It works well for me, but it wont completely cover dogs barking or people talking loudly. It does make those sounds softer though.I would probably need another on my dresser at the end of my room and one on his side to really have a complete

Pros
  • Health Care
Cons
  • May not be comfortable to sleep nearby

I used to live on a ship, and this gives me the same deep sleep

When I was in the Navy, I only needed to sleep for 5 hours a deep because of how deep the sleep was. A big part of that was the low hum of the ship's engines. This little guy (and it is small) does a GREAT job of replicating that experience and helps me stay asleep longer. If I had one complaint, its that I would like just a little more adjustment to drop the octave range to a lower tone. Still though, it does everything it promises and for that, I give it a 5 out of 5.

Pros
  • Safe to use
Cons
  • Could cause sensory overload for some users

Had one 50 years ago. Loved it! They say they didn't change it -- but this is too loud. On low, with full "low sound" adjustment -- still louder than we wanted. Too bad. We looked forward to it. But we returned it.

Pros
  • Can last for years
Cons
  • Not ideal for people who wear hearing aids

I got this in the hopes of having to quit placing my cockatiel in a dark bathroom while I work from home (I know, I'm a terrible bird mom but I need to work to make money to buy seed.). Unfortunately I now work remotely on the phone and my bird is a relentless screamer - the two are a terrible mix. My house is one story so there is no getting away from the noise he makes. This contraption didn't even put a dent in the sound. I think it works well otherwise so I will be keeping it - I am a fan…

Pros
  • Provides a sense of security
Cons
  • Can create a false sense of security for light sleepers
