Good pre-filter but center hole goes through so useless unless modified. I didn't come back because I don't have time to wait for an alternative

Large pores and rough texture is just what I needed in a pre-filter sponge, but I couldn't find it anywhere else, especially at this price point. The hole goes through, but that's not a big problem for me. Would buy again!

I don't give a bad review because I just didn't know what I was ordering. However, people should know that it is hollow like a donut. Also, it didn't exactly fit the Aqueon Quietflow 20. That's right, just the way I wanted it, just needs modification to work with the setting as a pre-filter.

You can't see it in the pictures but they are hollow all over so they don't work for my filter needs yes I should have me read all the product reviews but in a hurry and the photos and description seemed to be what I was looking for. This is not the case, please update your photos to show the correct product.

I bought these pre-filters for the intake pipe of the mounted rear filter. However, since the jaws were open at both ends, they did not work properly. I had to sacrifice one of the six to plug one end. The main reason I bought them was so the roasts don't get sucked in. If I were to buy them to measure the surface area of bacteria I would prefer a thinner sponge.

I use it as a pre-filter for the hob. The density of the sponge is quite good, I would have preferred a coarser sponge for my application. It clogs every 3-4 days and needs to be removed and cleaned, if you don't it will stop the flow of water in your tank and cause an ammonia surge. I uninstalled from my install and selected the course option.

The foam on it is coarse so it doesn't clog as quickly as my old fine sponge pre-filter. It still keeps a lot of bits and pieces off my rear filter which is the main reason I bought it. It has no bottom which means it looks like a hose and the diameter of the hose is larger than the inlet on my aqueon quietflow 50 so the sponge from the filter suction stays on top of the hose.

I purchased this product from this seller about a year ago. I recently reordered and the product is completely different. The pre-filter sponges I got the first time were very rough and did a great job of keeping large debris out of my filter while still allowing enough water flow to keep the inlet from clogging. In the new order, the sponges are very thin. and experience has shown that they tend to clog very quickly. I wish their product was consistent but I have requested a refund due to the…
