You keep that pleasant bluish coating that seems so important to you.

Buy. It never gets sticky or rancid. The included micro scrubber won't scratch the blade if you rub it against the grain. Money well spent, and even as a full-time chef it will last for many years to come. As long as you don't let the carbon steel rust, you'll also keep that beautiful bluish finish that seems so important to aspiring chefs.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Best knife oil on Revain

I was worried about finding a good knife oil because a lot of the reviews I read on Revain talked about knife rust. I have a collection of knives that I keep in my briefcase and this is the oil I ended up buying and using on all of them. It's been about 2 months and none of them have rusted, the oil is still on them and they work as expected. If you love taking care of your knives and are looking for a quality oil, this is for you.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Was damaged

As advertised! UPDATE

All items received as advertised, no quality control issues and working as described! packed up. I have 2 knives that are over 20 years old that I just adopted will always have rust spots on them so I was like what the heck let's give it a try. Wow! Brilliant! It takes some muscle power and according to the instructions it works best in the direction of the grain of the knife, but I'm impressed! My rusty olive gray knife is actually a fun metallic gray! lol recommended!

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • No form required

A very good, light oil that will keep your knives in top condition.

A very pleasant oil for quality knives made of carbon steel. Proper application of this oil requires the use of a lint-free fiber cloth with just a few drops. Carefully apply a thin layer of oil to the blade and then. wipe with a second clean cloth. What I call a "nanolayer" is all that is needed. Use this oil after each use after washing and drying. This will 100% prevent your knives from discolouring if you clean and oil the knife immediately after use. Leaving the knife wet and dirty willโ€ฆ

Pros
  • also understandable for the old

Essential for carbon steel knives

I live in a very humid climate and have 2 nice carbon steel masakage knives, not a perfect combination as they tend to rust even if dried thoroughly before putting away. To prevent this, I have to lubricate them. This camellia oil is perfect for the job. The bottle squeezes but seems sturdy enough and you can dispense drop at a time very easily which is all you need for each side of the blade. The oil is thick enough to stay on the blade and small enough to spread easily. I use my finger toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Heavy duty
Cons
  • Not all will fit

One of the best purchases I've ever made

And that's no exaggeration: it's knife oil - I know it by the name "hinoki"; it has other names - it's just fantastic for knife blades. Living in the high desert, rust isn't a big problem unless you handle knives carelessly, but no matter what, it's always a good idea to protect the blades with the occasional application of oil. This oil is perfect: viscous enough to stay where you put it, yet light enough to glide easily onto the blade; It dries quickly without leaving a sticky residue, butโ€ฆ
