    Quality design

Works as described. I particularly like the design of the metal housing and the included high-speed USB-C cable. The housing contributes to heat dissipation. When used with a Thunderbolt 3 port, data transfer is very fast. The speed is determined by the memory module you choose, which is very easy to install.

    • New to my collection

Works well, instructions not very clear

Overall - does what it's supposed to. Disk access seems fast, works on Windows and Mac OS. The included magnetic-tipped screwdriver is a bonus. The included Thunderbolt 3 (passive) cable is around 18-19 inches long, which is also a bonus. The statement is useless. The included instructions say "Open the back cover" and then the next step - "Insert the M.2 NVMe SSD" - it skips everything "You need to unscrew those four other screws and take the circuit board out, install the drive and take the…

    Very disappointing write speed

On my Mac Mini 2018, i7, 64GB RAM, Big Sur, the write speed is only 1200MB/s (read speed is 2800MB/s normally). I have a Samsung 970 Evo plus. This case is too expensive for the writing speed it offers.

    • Slim design
    Cons
    • No instructions

    Works as advertised

Works well. I installed a Western Digital 1TB WD Blue SN550 NVMe - Gen3 x4 internal SSD and received speeds that matched the drive's specs. (1800MB/s write, 2100MB/s read) Reflecting others' comments on unclear instructions. It's like the design has changed and the instructions haven't been updated accordingly.

    • Best in niche
    Cons
    • Not as good as advertised

    Nowhere is CLOSE cool enough

The electronics may be fine, but the heatsink will NOT suffice without help. Directed towards the entire unit like a floor fan at high speed. . It's also not a viable storage device until you bring it back to room temperature. Expect better cooling than this case offers.

    Pros
    • Everything is fine!
    Cons
    • Doubtful

This case was really great for me last year. Originally purchased in early January 2021 and has been working reliably ever since. I'm getting pretty crazy speeds, around 2050MB/s writing and 2500MB/s reading, and haven't had any issues with it so far. I am using a Sabrent 2TB Rocket M.2 2280 TLC in the case and it was great too. I've just ordered the 8TB version of QLC and will give it a try in this case to see if it works (although they only claim 2TB support). The only downside to this case…

    Good performance with some weaknesses.

Pro: Case works well and cools thanks to metal fins. It is also compact and easy to carry. Cons: Expensive, Terrible route. They tell you to unscrew a screw and remove the bottom cover. Then insert the SSD card and turn the lever to lock it before replacing the bottom cover. In fact, after removing the bottom cover, you need to loosen the four screws on the corners of the card, turn the card over, and then insert the SSD card after sticking the supplied thermal tape. Then use a screw to secure…
