I needed to mend a cracked screw hole back onto the original threads and these little guys got the job done. I just drilled a bit, then drove a tap in up to the external thread and screwed in, done.

I made a drum sanding table and fence for my drill press and used this threaded insert for the star knob and threaded rod that controls the position of the fence. I can fine tune the fence and sand it down to paper thickness.

I purchased this product hoping that I could use it as a 5/8-11 male to 1/2"-13 female insert adapter, but it is not designed for .The 1/2"-13 thread is correct and works without problems. 5/8"-11 won't work because the threads aren't cut properly. I'm not even sure if it's possible to make a male adapter for such a small diameter difference, ie 5/8"-11 to 1/ 2"-13. I am rating it 4 stars assuming it would work for what it is supposed to do and only because it would not allow me to submit this…
