🔧 Zak Tool Pocket Window Punch: Convenient & Reliable Black Tool for Emergency Rescue Review

Doesn't match the description. Not quite black as shown. I can't say how well this works since I don't smash windows every day. I work in law enforcement so I bought this for rescue and/or entry situations. Appears to be well built. If I use it I'll report back.

My partner works at a university and in the case of an active shooter it would be difficult to take cover safely (her public wall is glass so she can't just lock her door and hide That gives me a little idea of how she can safely escape (as far as possible) through her office window.

The "black" switch was NOT all black as shown in the photo or description so it was returned unchecked. The predominant color was silver, at least 3/4 from the top where it would be visible if zipped into a black shirt pocket or waistcoat. The pointed "business end" was black, like other two-tone models I've seen.

Zak Tool. That's it. Very sharp metal tip, heavy with a springy center. This will break every window you need to hit except the car's front window. This is the perfect size. Just like a feather. I carry it next to the handle of my flak jacket on patrol. It's fun to play even if it's boring and you can't go wrong at the price point.

I have seen this product used twice while in law enforcement. One was on the window of the house and the other was on the driver's side and both times the windows broke on the first try with no problem. I've seen someone use ASP and bang on the car window multiple times to no avail. This is an amazing product and very well made.

I don't give 1 star reviews. But I have to as the issue raised in the reviews many years ago has not been resolved as of March 20, 2021. The color "black" is sold in two colors. And especially silver. The product itself is good. We hope the 1 star rating will draw attention to this issue and alert future customers looking for Zak Tool black shards that the color change is underway.

Item not as pictured. The item is clearly chrome plated, not black. It may sound trite, but I don't want anything shiny in my uniform pocket, so I started with black instead of chrome. Several reviews show the same issue, I just thought they corrected the description or the item over time. I am not at all happy with this purchase and will be returning it.
