Want the best cold weather MPG for your Mazda 6, get this.

In cold weather, MPG increases by five for my 10 mile commute. Additional benefit: Immediate heating for defrosting windows and warming up the back. I always had engine heaters when I lived far north. They are also worth their weight in gold in the south. It easily goes away in about an hour. Zerostart has a successful product here.

The threaded version of zerostarts doesn't fit.

This threaded version will not fit F150 5.4 3v 2006, I called Zerostart and they said there was a mismatch with this application. Zerostart took my name and phone number so a technician could contact me, but I haven't heard from them in a week now. The heater screw is 3/4 NPT and the drain screw is 3/8 NPT. I even checked the Zerostarts application guide before purchasing, it's not Amazon's fault they have incorrect product information. See photo for comparison.

However, once he found it, installation was a breeze. Threads are wrapped in protectant/sealant, eliminating the need for tape or elbows. I use it with a timer and so far if it's turned on an hour before driving it takes about five minutes for the engine to warm up (ie drive). If you can pay more than $350 a ton and don't want to…

Fits easy installs on a 2015 Mazda3 works great

I installed this heater on my 2015 Mazda3 this fall and am very glad I did. It seems that the biggest problem people have with this heater is figuring out where to install it. I can't speak to Ford pickups or any other vehicles it fits, but on my Mazda it fits easily into a threaded plug high up on the rear of the engine. The correct plug is surrounded by an orange sealant and is very easy to identify. Just look at the back of the engine. You don't have to remove any brackets or parts of the…
