ZIG Mangaka Assortment Set for Cartoonists - Pack of 8 Review

The brush isn't as flexible as I thought it would be, but the eyeliners are amazing. Brought my drawing to a new level of clarity.

This is a good set but unfortunately it doesn't live up to the hype. It's not black enough and won't fade! Bought these for pencil edges. But the color of the ink fades so much after the lightest erasure. Unfortunately I refuse to keep them. Come back to my Sakura Micron.

This is one of the best manga drawing pencil sets on the market and represents excellent value for money. For this review I tried to make a (albeit poor) sketch using only the 8 pens from this set. I didn't use a pencil or eraser. I used 003 and 005 to make it look like a pencil and then used 03,05 and 08 for the darker lines. For the shading I used one of the two (gold) brush pens. These pens from Zig are a fantastic set with lots of fine line and nib options with impeccable drawing quality. 8 pens 6 liners and 2 brushes. The padded handles are very stiff, won't crumble or wear out when squeezed. The quality of the ink in these pens is perfect: very black and opaque, pleasantly fluid and quick-drying so that it does not smear. I also appreciate that these pens have no odor. I was very impressed with this ZIG Cartoonist Mangaka Assortment Set of 8 ink pens. They arrived in great condition and well packaged. The feel of the pen in my hands is comfortable and not too light like some cheap ink pens. Fine line markers and brushes move smoothly across the paper. The black ink is beautifully saturated. As a kid I was obsessed with Rapidograph pens and saved up for finer tips. They have a very large range of graduated nibs/tips which were very expensive and required careful handling and great care. If you forget to clean one of the finer tips, you may no longer be able to use it. The same applies if you press too hard and bend the pen inside the pen.
