This pen is DEFINITELY not worth $8. It feels tiny and cheap, and MUCH less metallic than I was hoping for. More like a *light* metallic dark grey. I bought a cheap $2 calligraphy marker from Walmart which gives it more shine (see photo - *Disclaimer: I'm obviously not a professional calligrapher, but color was the main contrast here)! So disappointed. Also doesn't work on textured paper, even heavy paper, as it doesn't make a smooth line.

The pens work great. My guess is that the person who was disappointed didn't fuel it properly. The ink will flow to the tip by gravity and you need to press it once or twice and then be patient for the ink to flow to the tip. This may take three or four minutes. I was so excited to see the metal version of these markers because I just love my Wink of Stella brushes. The boy was immediately disappointed! Based on my experience with these brushes, I knew how to remove the black ring, replace the cap, shake the brush, and then gently squeeze the tube to get the ink flowing.
