Nice valve but no NPT thread.

I use this valve to drain my compressor tank every few minutes and I love this valve. I don't like threaded connections. I bought a valve with 1/4" ports and assumed it was 1/4" NPT. You are not. These are 14 TPI threads, which is the same thread pitch as NPT, but these threads are DIN straight, NOT tapered, so a rubber o-ring or gasket is required to properly seal the fittings . A gasket is included but I had to purchase an O-ring to seal the other joint. The connection is good. It's just a…

Intermittent connection to solenoid

So easy to install it's a simple tube fitting. The design is used by a million companies with different names. SHIT. The thing wobbles intermittently and/or puts a strain on the wiring. It is enough to just slightly pull the electric cable to the plug for it NOT to work. The forks have been adjusted 5 or 6 times to try and get a solid performance. And he's intermittent. I had to tie the wire to the side to ensure it would not move and continue to function properly. 2 stars because it "really"…

If it works, great, though.

When this valve works, it's amazing. The timer aspect works great. Every 45 minutes it opens for 3 seconds but the problem is that it doesn't close securely. Sometimes it will leak at full pressure, sometimes just a few pounds per square inch, but in any case this is an unacceptable situation. Every time I go back and find that the valve is leaking I can either manually close the valve (I think that's why it's there) or I can cycle through the check button a few times to close it again . In any

Works great!: Air tool parts and accessories

To avoid too frequent drain cycles and when we are not in shops where they are used I connected them to one branch of a 240v power supply, to enable the supercharger motors and the other foot on the ground. It's not code, but ground is tied to neutral in additional panels with good ground wires in between. The drains run when first turned on, so they will start whenever the compressors are running and turn off when the compressors are off. The compressed air silencer/silencer, also from Revain,

Pros

Cons
  • Big and bulky

I installed this on my 3hp air compressor. 60 gallons. I am satisfied with its performance. However, as mentioned here, using a timer will limit you to drain intervals every 45 minutes for 24 hours. 24 times a day is overkill. It is not possible to set the timer once a day, for example, which would be optimal if the compressor is not used every day. To get around this and to make it easier to use, I've connected the timer to a remote outlet for now, which I can just turn on when I walk into the
