Artwork - Housewares

Not only is this a pretty lighter, this is how ALL Zippo lighters should work. Even flint is made from the material that all flints were once made of! You can hear it when you light it. It has just the right amount of ignition. Zippo must make all of its flints from this material, be it steel or composite. I have two other Zippo lighters and none of them light up as quickly and smoothly as this one.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • I won't tell

Cool lighter! for lighters

Many old-school Zippo users like to point out that the new lighters are not as heavy and of good quality as the classic ones. It's probably true, but this is my first Zippo and I think it's great. Actually I bought it for my girlfriend, she loves it. Little did I know that flints/wicks need to be replaced from time to time. Keep this in mind when using the device for the first time (maintenance is very easy and the flints/wicks are not too expensive).

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Hard to say

Very poor quality lighter.

I haven't worn a Zippo in almost 30 years. My usual carry lighters are Dunhill and a couple of Duponts. I wanted a Zippo and spare fuel in case I ran out of butane. I am extremely disappointed. This lighter is much lighter than I remember the Zippo lighter is. It is thin and the engraving has sharp edges. I can't believe an American company like Zippo makes such a bad product. I do not encourage anyone to purchase this product.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not sure

This lighter turned out a little better than expected

I have to say this lighter turned out a little better than expected. I was skeptical at first because of the black paint on it, thought and was pretty sure it was little more than a light application of basic spray paint. But to my pleasant surprise, it's actually quite a thick layer of paint covering the brass lighter itself (the cross has been etched through the paint, revealing the bare brass metal covering it). I'm pretty sure you have to intentionally press a nail against the surface of…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Looks great, but it's not true.

That's good. That looks great. The cross and filigree are quite deep, just enough to snag onto clothing if you wear a lot of nylon - not a problem for me. Real brass body and great color. Not very good. I am old enough to own Real Zippos. These were lighters with weight, even cast iron ones had weight. No longer. If you hold this lighter without pressing, the top will warp to one side. The metal body is incredibly thin. But at least it's real metal and costs less than $20. VERDICT? It's not…

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some change

Big disappointment, what happened to you Zippo?

It was a huge disappointment! While you can read God, Serenity, Courage, and Wisdom, you really can't read the words in between. Both the type of inscription and the barely engraved surface make it nearly illegible except for four large words. While I'm here I might as well mention that as the reviews have pointed out, the quality of the lighter itself is declining. They used to be made out of some kind of hard metal, which isn't that common these days. However, I am sure that the lighter will…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled
