After a summer camp project to make something out of leather, they asked to make it at home. I collected a base skin pack and bought this set. Very easy to use and fun. One of the tools broke after half a dozen uses, otherwise it's holding up well. Good value for money!

They are cheaply made, but still serve their purpose. I sanded down the small edge so it was smooth instead of textured, the soft metal they are made of actually made the process very easy, and I now have two edge sizes. not very sharp and leaves a soft rounded appearance. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase, I have all the basic tools I want and lots of extras.

Not top quality and I don't know how they hold up on skin but I enjoy them on polymer clay where they work great. Of course the clay is much softer and I don't have to chisel them. For this use, they're a fun addition to my texture tools. I would like to know what metal they are made of. It annoys me a little when they call them "Metal". I'm serious! duh.please tell me what type?! But I know China. And the US doesn't seem capable of making stuff like that anymore.

Modest quality but incredible value for money and breadth hence the five stars. It's really impossible to win. I can add a few bevels to complete it but that's me, otherwise a good starter kit. This is a good set for the price. However, I have two problems with this set. First, some parts are redundant - there are 5 (1/4 set) crescent shaped tools. It's not obvious from the photo, which only shows some stamping tools, so you don't really know what you're buying. Second, the textured side handles are SHARP. They had to be polished with a wire polisher to remove the sharp ridges that stuck to the skin. Before they can be used, they must be filed or polished to remove those dangerous…

I bought these for my father who works with leather and I have to admit that just because I don't use them I'm not 100% sure how the tools work. A big disappointment for me is that there are no docs telling me you have these pear shaders or these camo tools, even if it's a step, if you really already know this information, it should be in the package be. It's been a long time since I've worked with leather seriously and I don't know if they will hold up in the long term. I bought them at the same time as the Tandy starter kit and had the opportunity to compare these tools side-by-side with ZJchao. There weren't any issues with metal splinters, and I can't say there's a huge difference between them.
