I've been switching between Zojirushi and Tiger BC rice cookers for weeks. I've used Tiger all my life, but I've heard Zojirushi rice lasts a long time. This is important because we eat rice at every meal and it's a hassle to constantly prepare a fresh batch of rice. Newer versions cost more so I researched and got this older version. This is a great rice cooker and worth every penny I paid for it. It literally freed up hours of my (crazy busy) week and helped me eat healthier and also helped me save money on buying lousy and unhealthy takeout food. I have cooked brown rice, sushi rice and even farro in this machine. (For farro, use the mixed grains setting and add a little more water and this is the best farro I've ever eaten in my life).
