Must be! in aquarium heaters and coolers

If you have a large reptile, you should have this. My 70 pound wart won't come off it. He totally loves it! Update I've had it for about 5 years and my sulcata still uses it every day and it hasn't broken yet. My big boy can be very destructive by accident.

Pros
  • Easy to use, clean
Cons
  • So far so good

Great product, my cat loves it too.

My tortoise loves his blanket! I really didn't think he would do that because he's so big and stubborn! However, it worked great. I liked the added protection for the power cord and the even heat distribution. The platform was easy to clean and move to where I needed it.

Pros
  • Industrial heater for heavy tortoises and other large caged reptiles
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Great heater, this is my second.

This heater is great and this is the second heater I have bought. We have a sulcata tortoise weighing over 60 pounds that spends all of its time outdoors. Usually the SoCal climate doesn't play a big role, but on some winter nights we can see temperatures approaching 35 degrees. We feel it's too cold here and we think our turtle is fine with that. On cold days, he often prefers to lounge on his heating mat than look for food. Lazy Turtle.

Cons
  • Clarity

So far so good, good for fish and aquatic animals

My 5 year old sulcata just went outside the whole Time and needed warmth for his aviary. I was reluctant to let him lay directly on the mat since he hasn't grown yet, so I attached the mat to the wall of his enclosure. My tortoise is fine and burrows into the substrate closest to the heater at night. I had to buy a thermostat separately to control the temperature and still make adjustments to the settings. So far I am satisfied with the purchase.

Pros
  • Automatic thermostat protection turns off the heater at 48°C to prevent overheating
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Amazing Heat for my Turtle

This thing is wonderful. We have 2. Both are for large outdoor terrapins. 1 heat mat is in a shed in a turtle enclosure with hay (but not on a mat), the turtle weighs about 159 pounds and we wired it to a thermostat to keep it at 70 degrees. Turns off and on when needed. The second one we have is in a 35lb dog turtle igloo with hay in it but not on a mat. We also have one that is wired to a thermostat to stay at 70 degrees. They save lives and make me happy knowing they stay warm. As a result…

Turtle is very happy

This product is very reliable and my 13th terrapin loves it. We've been using this heating pad for 4 months and I've never worried about it overheating. It's easy to clean. I spray it with water and wipe it down with a paper towel for a quick clean. For a more thorough clean, I spray with soap, scrub with a soft brush, and rinse with a sink sprayer. It has proven to be reliable and safe. I am very happy with this product and my turtle is much more active and eating much more than in years past.

Pros
  • Waterproof
Cons
  • I will add later

Great for sulcata but will need a thermostat when repurchasing

My 4 year old sulcata (14" long) loves to lie on it and tends to move her around a lot in his cage. He's not currently in an aviary for me to pin him in (we've moved and he's in a very makeshift location while we build something new), but I highly encourage you to do so if you can . The pad is fairly light and my friend can slide it with some ease which can end up pulling the cords and all into his body. I'm not worried about electrical issues (he doesn't chew), but I do check him regularly to…

Pros
  • 1 year limited warranty
Cons
  • boring packaging
