It would be 5 stars. But.

This is a very good drive, 12 or 24 DC. I have connected my actuator to a 24vdc power supply and am using it to raise a bed box mattress in my caravan. You will be surprised at how fast it rises. I would have given it 5 stars but it was missing a cotter pin and two cotter pins, so I spent a long time looking for a replacement. Sorry, but that's not an excuse for missing details, just carelessness.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

This is really quite a powerful unit, it can self-destruct.

May or may not buy this unit again. I didn't have a chance to check the lifting capacity, the shaft bent after the engine didn't stop due to my error, so the jack keeps pushing and rotating around the base of the vise, which is bolted to the wishbone plate as shown in the picture. It's iron/aluminum versus plastic and wood. Plastic and wood won the battle of the moment.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

PWM messes up position indicator

With two of these some mirrors were placed to reflect the sun onto the solar panel. I tried accelerating the drive with modulated pulse (PWM), it worked fine, but the position feedback from the drive was drifting when I ever used PWM to control the motor. If I drove the motor with constant voltage, the position pulses worked better, but would still drift depending on how many times the motor changed direction. I have used them outside and yes I know they are not made for wet areas. About a year

Pros
  • Best in niche
