Much better than expected. Significant increase in performance from 3500 rpm. Great sound from the whistles too! Worth every penny.

Yes. You must have it.

I used this in a '96 Miata. The difference in acceleration is noticeable. K&N claims on their website how much power to expect, but they don't have numbers for my car. All I can say is "wow!" Note that due to the factory air conditioning in my car, routing the air hose from the air intake to the air filter area was a big hassle, but it was worth it.

Not suitable for Miata's automatic transmission

This cold air kit is very well made with all the necessary mounting hardware. Disassembling the stock airbox and reinstalling the MAF sensor is easy, and the entire procedure is basically done using small self-drilling screws to install the air intake. The only problem is that the cold air snorkel does not fit the Miata automatic transmission. Transmission-related accessories prevent the cold air supply hose from exiting the bottom of the engine compartment and hitting the cold air reservoir…
