Good product, easy installation

Easy installation, quality product. I've seen some people have trouble getting the camera in and out. I had the same problem. The product actually comes with a 3 year guarantee which I think is great! I just had to send them a camera for inspection. They found that water had entered the camera unit and sent me a full kit free of charge. It actually turned out to be a faulty wiring harness, but it was a new one in the kit. Highly recommended and Alpine was very easy to work with. I have paired…

Cons
  • High price

This seemed like the best general solution for adding a rear camera to mine.

I have found this to be the best overall solution for adding a backup camera to my 2015 Rubicon. The quality is good and the installation was quite easy. However, the direction for the wiring was a bit lacking. To connect this unit to a factory head unit, you must purchase an adapter cable from Alpine. What was confusing was the instructions that came with the camera, which is said to connect to a black and white wire in the passenger console to control the brakes. However, the extra wire…

A good product is hampered by a poor assembly design.

Pros:* Camera works well* Looks good on a Jeep* Easy installation. The instructions were complete and easy to understand. * The camera module itself seems relatively solid. * Supplied with three mounting adapters for different wheel offsets. Cons: * The attachment system is too fragile. The camera is mounted on an aluminum pole held together with tiny 2mm screws. If it's your first tire change, your friendly neighborhood mechanic will be there tightening the camera module with his air wrench…

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Fairly good

I'm a big fan of this as the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Recon I just got doesn't include a rear view camera. I ordered my Jeep with a 430N head unit and this unit is compatible with it but requires an adapter. The installation turned out to be MUCH more difficult than I expected, but I'm very happy with the result. FYI if you are using this with a factory stereo you will need to ask your dealer to 'flash' the stereo to enable the rear view camera options. In addition, you must order a…

  • An absolute legend

Great addition to the New 2017 Jeep JKU

Great addition to the New 2017 Jeep JKU I chose this option over some others because I really liked the extra brake light as well as the backup light. The reversing light makes a huge difference in nighttime visibility and is as bright as a flashlight. It doesn't have the green/yellow/red lines that other dashcams have, but neither do my mirrors. Installation was pretty easy, but I would add that you will need an Alpine Electronics ALP-HRN-CAMCH Camera Wiring Harness Adapter Camera Input Wiring

Pros
  • High test results for Grip and Durability
Cons
  • Speed

Great product but difficult to install and requires dealer to complete

I installed this in my 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon which came with an Alpine 430N radio. The first thing to know is that it requires an adapter for the current Wrangler radio, which can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/Alpine-Electronics-ALP-HRN-CAMCH-HCE-TCAM1- WRA-2007 . -2017/dp/B06XYSMB7N/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1512501180&sr=8-2&keywords=alpine+jeep+wrangler+backup The installation of this product is complex and requires the following components in addition to the camera and…

Pros
  • Heavy duty construction

  • Not automatic
