One of the best surge protectors

This is one of the best network filters I've used. It's actually a surge protector with joule protection - make sure the electronics you put on the surge protector don't exceed the joule protection or you will be disappointed when the surge occurs. Stay below the threshold and it will never fail. Many of the ones on the market are not true surge protectors, but this one is.

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Seems reliable and safe

I use this for consumer electronics such as monitors, video players and laptops. It works pretty well and doesn't seem to have any reliability or security issues. When I buy something at a reasonable price (I don't say cheap because I think a lot of brands scam you by charging over $15 for an extension cord) it's obvious that safety was my primary concern. Nobody wants a cheap power strip from an unknown brand that can melt or burn. This one seems safe.

Pros
  • Looking forward to
Cons
  • Legacy model

Nice, genuine: surge protector

I did a lot of research before deciding on this one (actually 2 packs but then I saw it for less than half the price!). I wanted surge protectors and something that wasn't fake. I even checked the APC website to make sure it was the right product. It works and I am happy to receive something well made. At first I had some problems connecting the 2-pin plug, but this also happens with the socket outlets with earthing contact that I installed. Oh, and it would be nice if the fork was 90 degrees.

Pros
  • Pleasing
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Almost impossible in surge protection

I ordered this to connect a TV and lamp to it. The inserts for the fork are so tight that at first I thought it wouldn't work. I had to press FIRMLY to turn on the TV, so hard my nail snapped off to finally plug it in. (These are all sockets on the rod, the male goes about half way in, then you have to press hard). Then a lamp. When I plugged in the lamp and turned it on, there was a visible electrical discharge coming from the extension cord. I'm honestly afraid to use it.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Meets my surge protector needs

I needed a thin, low profile surge protector that could be used behind a media cabinet. I knew only three or four devices would plug into it, so a power strip with ten outlets and USB ports was overkill. This basic APC model works. It only has three feet of cord, so not much more, and six outlets. I currently have my cable box, smart tv and audio converter hooked up to it and haven't had any issues so far. I love that there is an on/off switch and a light so I know it's on. I hope I never have…

Do it with protection!

Everyone Should Be Concerned About Safe Electronics! I would NEVER do without a surge protector for my valuable electronics. Of course, this is a simple and basic model, but even minimal protection is better than nothing. I don't use them for simple items like fans or alarm clocks. I only use them for the most valuable things like gaming systems, TVs and stereos. It's important to remind people that surge protectors do not protect against lightning strikes. They protect against overvoltages. I…

Quality Control Hit and Miss

I bought two models of this model after reading an article about how terrible (and scary) the quality of many surge protectors is. APC was the ONLY brand that looked good in this study. Here are my impressions: http://www.tomshardware.com/picturestory/681-cheap-power-surge-protector.html The first thing you find when you open the (retail) box is a handwritten receipt for the quality check! Apparently, APC checks the operation of each individual device. It is extraordinary! The 6-foot cord is…
