Starts well but falls apart quickly

I was initially excited about this product. It appeared to be a quality product, but after less than 4 months the bottom magnetic part fell out, the plastic started to wear out badly, and after 8 months whole segments came loose letting air/bugs/etc in. In terms of price, I am very disappointed that the product has not been fully utilized for 6 months and definitely has to be replaced a year ago.

Doesn't last at all!

We purchased this item and installed it less than 2 years ago. 6 months after installation it was used by our dogs. One piece broke off after 4-6 uses and was slowly crumbling. We thought it would be better than the traditional dog flap, but it doesn't stay on. It banged and banged a few months ago and now several bottom rings have fallen off completely. I would give 0 stars if I could. I currently have a hole in the wall until I can replace the entire block. Don't waste your time. Have had…

Magnetic, Insulated and Relatively Quiet

This is a great door for dogs as it is magnetized and does a good job of protecting the house from bugs. Since it's insulated and we live in southern Arizona, I really hope it does better than our previous door at keeping warm. It opens and closes differently than any other door I've seen, so it took the dog a while to get used to it. It goes well with a standard 2x4 wall with stucco. We installed it with additional 2x4 screws, this required longer screws to go through the plaster to add some…

Good quality but needs some work shortly after installation

I installed this door just over a year ago. I have 2 large dogs that use the door all the time. Installation was easy and looks very nice. Even in high winds, it keeps out cold and heat, and the security door slides in easily if you want to keep it closed. It also looks very nice outside and inside. After about a month of use, the felt lining began to move down from the sides, and the bottom of the door, where the magnets are located, began to diverge. If I left it alone, the bottom track that…

Stronger than other pet doors

When I first took this door out of the box I was really impressed with its construction - it is much stronger than the less expensive plastic frame doors I have installed in other homes. It costs more than these doors, but it's worth the extra cost to me. The frame is metal and reinforced at the corners with 90* staples. First the outer frame is inserted into the cut-out, screwed and then the inner frame with the "door" is inserted. The advantage of having two separate frames is that the screw…
