Just what I needed

This product is exactly what I expected and needed. I have a 4.5 year old who doesn't like holding hands, is too old for backpacking and notorious for running away. I have three kids and I don't have enough energy to follow them up so this product is great. This gives me the ability to keep her close while still giving her some room to move. I would give 5 stars but I have one complaint. She says it gets tight and painful at times. Of course, if she hadn't tried to run away, she probably…

Used at Disney World - Works Great

Great Stuff. It's very easy. The leash is only about 3 feet long so you don't feel like tripping over people when you let your child run around. The part that goes on the baby is a slip knot of sorts. My 2.5 year old was able to figure out how to get his wrist out but it took a while and he had to sit up to do it. It was fairly comfortable and certainly not nearly as hot as wearing one of the backpack's straps. He has it, but when we tested it before the trip he kept complaining about being hot

The leash offers independence but security in crowded places.

We bought two of these to use on our trip to Disneyland. They have worked brilliantly in different ways. At first my 5 year old daughter used it as a bracelet on her wrist and always quickly handed me the other end whenever I let go. She liked that she could walk 3 feet from me and still be tied down. And when she occasionally threw a tantrum or wanted to go somewhere without us, she held the leash open. Second, we tied it to our almost two year old's chest. He didn't like being in a wheelchair

Success! good for safety

UPDATE: While I still recommend this product, I now recommend buying two. About six months after we bought this item, the wrist strap broke off. This made it difficult to use. I would also like to add that I think this product has helped me gain traction in my daily routine. In December 2013, my little nonviolent protester gave in to my wishes and began to submit to the extremely embarrassing act of holding hands with mom. My 20 month old son has a wild streak. He has a speech delay and is very

Safety + Freedom = Big Five for this product

I went through airport security and followed TSA instructions which not only required me to take my 14 month old girl out of her stroller, but also from me so I take my hands from her. She immediately ran away. TSA didn't want to help, but a very nice deputy sheriff who was nearby ran after her and grabbed her for me. That's when I realized that a children's leash is not only a convenience, but also a safety measure. It also gives my daughter more freedom. If she wasn't wearing it, she would…

Slips easily and is too short

I think I will return it. I bought two of these for my 2 1/2 year old twin girls. But the way you attach them to your wrists is too easy. All you have to do is pull a little (not hard) and the hole will get bigger and bigger (it's just a little plastic thing with no teeth holding it in place). Even a one year old can understand that! Also the loop at the other end is just what you need. So you'll need a clip or whatever to attach it to your belt, shopping cart, stroller or purse, otherwise for…

Time Out seat belt

I have a 2.5 year old who walks. With great fear for his safety and several panic situations, I finally grabbed a tether. His only punishment is a "time out" as he didn't quite understand what it's like to lose toys. Since downtime isn't always appropriate when we're on the road, we use it as downtime. He must remain bound to me for 2 minutes until he escapes or stays by my side when I summon him. None of us managed to pick him up and carry him as he is very tall for his age and hurt me when he

Great for theme parks

I bought this wrist strap for my 7 year old to use at Disney World. While it might seem old-fashioned to use something like this, he likes to run ahead on his own when he sees something that interests him, and I didn't want to end up bullying him. I liked this product because it wasn't a stuffed animal backpack too young for that age. What I liked best was that the length allowed him to basically just walk beside me and I didn't have to keep his hand in a sweaty death grip the whole time. The…
