Pellets too big for fish and aquatic animals

Too big for our Betta to chew and swallow. Tried a few times. I've tried crushing the granules smaller, but then it all just settles to the bottom.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Frequency

My wild bettas love this food.

I have wild and aquarium bred Betta macrostoma and B. rubra. Both eat these pellets. Pellets float for a long time, which is very good. The fish are breeding and doing well. I just wish there was a smaller version for my minors! I think the granules are too big for a bubble nest.

Pros
  • So far satisfied
Cons

NOT Micro - too big for my Betta to swallow!

I bought these for the bettamatic feeder as it is a feeder compatible feeder. They are too big for my adult Betta to swallow. He's tried a few times and now he won't touch her. Yes they are very good swimmers but it's useless if your betta can't eat them and if you break the pellets into smaller pieces they will sink quickly.

Pros
  • Made in the USA with natural ingredients.

My roosters won't eat it!

I may have picky eaters but my bettas won't touch this thing. They swim towards him curiously and then abruptly swim away as if to say "Not again, it's s#!*%". Disappointing because there really is a lot of value in this product (assuming your fish will eat it). As advertised, the pellets float. I haven't timed it, but I'd say they've been rocking on my tank in denial for at least an hour. They don't dissolve either. Aesthetically unappealing, but looks much cleaner than these flakes that…

  • Not the best

That thing can't do my fish any good

I received a free tube of these betta pellets when I bought my betta from the pet store. At first the fish flatly refused to eat them. Other reviewers noted that the balls might be too big for the fish to swallow, so I started cutting them in about half. A few days later the fish started eating them (probably because they were hungry at the time). When eating half of the granules, the fish seems to get stuck in the upper part of the aquarium at a 45 degree angle. My guess is that the fish eats…

  • There are other interesting options.
