I bought these to raise my teenage son's large bed a bit so he can stow things underneath and keep his bed skirt from dragging on the floor. His bed is a simple box spring and mattress on a metal bed frame with caster legs. These climbers did not survive. Any movement of the bed can cause the legs to jump right off the risers. His room is carpeted, so they work best on a hard floor that can handle a bit of slipping. Anyway, I don't think I would call them "heavy duty".

First, the height is right! I used to have 6 inch stands that made me jump to get in and out of bed almost every day. My setup: I have a VERY heavy mattress (18 inches thick) and a spring block that sits on one of those little adjustable metal frames with wheels.
