🔨 Estwing Rubber Mallet Double Face Hickory: Durable & Versatile Mallet for Precise Striking Review

This is a really nice hammer with a beautiful walnut handle. The alignment of the fibers in the handle is perfect and the suspension of the head is also perfect. It might seem strange to get excited about a hammer, but seriously, this is the most perfect hammer you can find. Its quality struck me as soon as I picked up the pen and weighed it.

Got this to replace the ones I had last year which I accidentally left on the beach. I like that it has two sides - one is a bit more complex; one is a little softer. (I later discovered that my "lost" hammer was just buried deep in my beach bag, so now I have two.)

When I took the first one out of the Revain mailer, I got my hands on a splinter. The handle is not polished and everything in fragments! I sent it back for an exchange and while the handle is smoother it still needs some fine sanding, especially on the underside. If you look at the photo, you can see that the wedges are not centered in the eye, which can cause the handle to crack in the future. Unfortunately the quality just isn't there.

My old rubber mallet was worn out so I chose this as a replacement. This allows you to immediately assemble the track deck with concealed fastenings. Works great to secure decking in concealed fixings without damaging the decking. I also gave free rein to my six-year-old to hammer plugs where I needed to hit a propeller. Even though both sides of the hammer look high quality, well made and solid, I like the handle best. Now I only buy tools with wooden handles. . Once they arrive I strip off the thin coat of varnish that is used on most wooden handles and apply several coats of boiled linseed oil to it. I bought this to use with leather stamps and punches. Leather tools are expensive and I wouldn't hit them with a metal hammer. Like other reviewers, the pen stands out for me. I've always been good with Estwing drums. I was very disappointed when I received this loose head hammer. It was wedged well, but the handle was too small to fit in the head's ear. So the head is relaxed. Thankfully, it's fairly easy to contact Revain for a replacement, which should arrive in about a week. If I needed another tool like this, I would definitely buy another one. is that different heads should be "soft" and "hard" but I honestly can't tell which side is hard and which is soft because both sides are pretty hard although they didn't dent or ruin it a hammer.
