Didn't warm the towel properly

After the bathroom remodel we went broke and bought this heated towel rail. The towel doesn't keep everything warm. Warm in places. I expected to step out of the shower and be greeted with a warm towel. The price is too high for what little it does.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • For retirees

Not safe for children in the bathroom

I really like this heated towel rail. A simple on/off switch that glows red when switched on (see photo). It also has a radiator effect that heats up the room. Just be careful not to rub it. It gets hot enough to leave a blister. I do not recommend around unsupervised children. Install in a place inaccessible to them.

  • Handy item

Excellent construction. Excellent price.

Thing is RELIABLE. Heavy stainless steel. Emits enough heat to dry 3 towels and keep them warm. The design is best with a switch in the top right corner. A plug style is needed so that the electrician does not hold onto the cord. This replaced the free-standing model. It should have happened long ago.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Exchange option

Works great, looks great

Warms towels very well. I set mine up with a 24 hour timer so it turns on and off at the right time to provide the feature without wasting power. The only thing I would change about this product is the side where the cable exits. It would be better if it fell off on the left side when mounting on the wall. Or better if you could change which side the cable and switch are on. I was able to tie an extra string behind the towels to the bottom attachment shafts.

  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Expandable

DIY, saves space

Why did I wait so long to buy a Heatgene towel warmer to replace my freestanding heated towel rail? I wanted a DIY unit (no electrics, no dangling wires, no timer that goes nowhere when I take it down) and more floor space. Screwing it into the studs just removes it with another screwdriver. It is difficult! The on/off button below will light up when the towel warmer is heating up. I just broke down and bought a plug in programmable timer. So if we stick to the schedule, the towels will be…

Dry fit before assembly

Product unpacked but could not be assembled due to cleaning the screw hole in the frame. I highly recommend letting the pieces dry before drilling holes in the wall. Return the goods and prompt replacement. The replacement product was not defective. The instructions are worthless. Watch Revain's installation video for tips. Following another reviewer's advice, I braced the rack against the wall and drew circle marks around the brackets with a pencil. I was then able to find centers for the…

Well made but inefficient heat transfer

This item is well made and relatively easy to install even if you try to place it in the same spot as the previous heated towel rail. Heats up, switch works, can be controlled via X-10 remote or a properly grounded timer. The problem is that the bulk of the towel doesn't hold very much heat! It's not the device issue that comes into play, it's thermodynamics. Less weight (towels or bathrobes etc.) leads to a faster cooling of the towel. For me it barely lasts long enough to dry completely…

Pros
  • As everything before

  • Reliability

Sturdy construction, clean finish, towels stay warm and dry

We installed this about six months ago during a bathroom renovation. We set a timer (Century FD60) to work from 8pm to 2am so towels are warm before the evening shower and have time to dry afterwards. The finish is a beautiful brushed stainless steel throughout and the welds and joints look clean and smooth. The switch is covered with a flexible rubber cover to protect against water and dust. We installed it so that the left brackets screwed into the studs and the right ones screwed with…
